Amauti 25L Pack

Compared to other packs that are visually overloaded with features, webbings, attachments and trims the AMAUTI hides all features and all functions under the surface. The features are accessible, but hidden under an encapsulating wrap, which includes the shoulder straps, side panels and hip belt.

Compression - The pack consists of two elements: The main compartment which holds 25L of space and the encapsulating-wrap which is wrapping the main compartment, holding the pack tight to the body (which prevents build-up of snow and moisture between the wearer and the pack). The AMAUTI is compressed only while wearing. This allows the user to easily access items when the pack when is not worn. Once the shoulder straps and hip belt are attached the pack stays snug to the body when the body is in motion.

Essential Gear – Avi gear and an emergency compartment is hidden between the main volume and the outer layer. To allow easy and fast access via a custom G-Hook with quick release action.

Construction - The encapsulating wrap is made from three panels of fabric. The shoulder straps, side panels and hip straps are built from the same piece of fabric. AMAUTI’s hip belt is part of the encapsulating wrap.. The fabric runs through the hip-belt-buckles. All of this is reducing the need for heavy webbing, eliminating extra weight was a key design consideration, simplifying construction and eliminating possible weak points through unnecessary sewing lines. The encapsulating-wrap and main compartment are attached through only two sewing points.

Ideal Use – Zero compromise, fast and light day missions. Ski/Splitboard touring, Running, Climbing, Scrambling.

Ski – Board Carry Titan carry straps together with the daisy chains on both sides of the pack provide multiple points of attachments for either diagonal or A-frame carry.

With compression/Titan straps you can attach Skis, Snowboard, Ropes, Ice Axes, Jackets, Crampons, etc with the daisy chain loops that run the length of each side (strategically hidden inside the outer wrap).

Instructions for preparing your kuksa for a lifetime of use

Step 1) Pour hot wayer into Kuksa, preferably not boiling, but hot. Let stand for two minutes and pour off. Most of the salt in the wood grain are soluble in hot water. Allow to dry for at least two hours. The wood grain opens when it gets wet and dries.

Step 2) Take a tablespoon of wet warm coffee "grinds" from the bottom of the filter and put them in the Kuksa. Rub firmly with your thumb, pressing the "grains" against the walls of the wood until they are dry (3-5 min). This will give the wood a water-repellent film that will not get wet. This process is seasoning the wood grain. Pour out and rinse with water.

Now you can drink from the cup, but do not wash with soap. The Kuksa will absorb the moisture left in it after drinking in an instant.

You can quickly change the taste of a Kuksa with alcohol: choose the alcohol beverage of choice, put the alcohol in the cup and sway for a while. The liquor is absorbed into the grains and maybe a few cups of coffee will taste a little like liquor, but not so much salt and wood. Ultimately, the extra flavors will remain under the surface that has formed on the wood.
