Ordering & Shipping
How long will my order take to arrive?
It depends on which shipping method you choose. Most orders will ship within one business day from when they’re placed. You may choose the shipping service, which can take anywhere from 6-7 days, or as little as one day for overnight services.
Shipping times vary depending on the shipping method selected at checkout. Most orders ship within one business day. After your order has shipped, delivery typically takes 6–7 business days with standard shipping or as little as one business day with overnight service.
Please keep in mind that processing and transit times are based on business days. For example, an order placed Friday evening would typically ship the following Monday.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes we do! Our international customers are welcome to shop directly on our global Beringia.world website. For countries that require extra duties and taxes, those will be charged at checkout. This helps ensure your order ships without delays and eliminates any surprises with shipping costs. To help offset the higher cost of international shipping, we also offer a 10% discount on all international orders (discount already reflected in the listed prices).
What shipping methods and carriers do you use?
We use UPS, USPS and FedEx Ground and Express. For our general rates we choose the least expensive option that will deliver your package within the desired time-frame. Please contact us for specific shipping needs, we’re happy to work with you.
All PO box and APO/FPO destinations will ship via USPS.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If you need to cancel your order, please contact Customerservice@beringia.world
Because we try to ship as fast as possible, we sometimes cannot stop an order from shipping, however we are always happy to help facilitate a return.
What happens if my order is delayed or lost?
Unfortunately, lost or stolen packages can occasionally happen during transit, and Beringia cannot be held responsible once an order has been marked as delivered by the carrier.
That said, please reach out if an issue arises. We’re always happy to help track down missing packages, contact the carrier, and assist with the claims process in any way we can.
Sizing & Fit
How do I know what size to choose?
The best starting point is the size chart on the product page. If you want a more specific recommendation, tell us which product you’re looking at plus your height, weight, and whether you want a fitted or more relaxed feel.
Do your pieces run true to size?
In general, yes. Most Beringia pieces run true to size with a more athletic, technical fit.
For unisex styles, men can typically order their usual size, while women often prefer to size down one size depending on how they plan to wear the piece. If you prefer a roomier fit or want space for additional layers, sizing up may be the better option.
If you have a specific style in mind, send it our way and we’ll be happy to offer a more precise sizing recommendation.
Can I layer beneath the garment?
Yes, many of our pieces are built with layering in mind, but it depends on the garment. Shells and relaxed outer layers usually have room underneath, while closer athletic or next-to-skin pieces are meant for lighter layering or base-layer use.
How does the return/exchange process work if the size isn’t right?
- If the size isn’t quite right, we’re happy to help with a return or exchange within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unworn, with the original tags attached, neatly folded and returned in their original packaging. Outlet and certain sale items are excluded.
To get started, email customerservice@beringia.world with your order number and the item and size you need. We’ll confirm availability and send you a return authorization.
For eligible exchanges, we’ll cover the shipping. Returns are subject to a $10 restocking fee. International and Pro Purchase orders do not qualify for free return shipping.
Materials & Care
What fabrics and technologies do you use?
We use a mix of technical Japanese fabrics and performance insulation systems across the line. A few key ones are Pertex Shield 3-layer shells for waterproof breathability, Pertex Quantum Air for ultralight air-permeable protection, OCTA mini grid insulation for fast-drying active warmth, DIOMEDE merino waffle fabric for stretch and moisture management, and Vivo Extreme and Vivo Ocean recycled insulations for lightweight and breathable body-mapped warmth in the Lightstream garments.
How should I care for my garment?
- It depends on the garment, but the general rule is cold, gentle washing and low heat or air drying.
- For many of our technical shells and lightweight pieces: machine wash cold on delicate and hang dry. For insulated pieces like down styles: wash cold on delicate and tumble dry low with dryer balls until fully dry. Always close zippers before washing, and avoid bleach and high heat.
How durable are the garments for rough use?
- Durability varies by garment and its intended use. Many Beringia pieces are built and field-tested for demanding mountain activities, but our ultralight styles prioritize breathability, mobility and packability rather than maximum abrasion resistance.
For rougher use, we recommend choosing one of our more protective shells or durable technical outer layers. Our Ultralight Mountain and Islander pieces use featherweight performance fabrics and are better suited for running, hiking, ski touring and travel, where keeping weight and bulk to a minimum matters most.

Damage caused by regular use, accidents, improper care or general deterioration may not qualify for warranty coverage. Zipper concerns are limited to one year from the original purchase date, while issues involving fabric, seams, hardware, insulation or other components are evaluated case by case.
Please send us the product name, approximate purchase date, a brief description of the issue and clear photos of the affected area, and our team will be happy to review it.
Can I get a repair if my garment gets torn or damaged?
- If your garment becomes torn or damaged, please contact our customer service team so we can review the issue. Warranty coverage will depend on whether the damage is determined to be a product defect or the result of normal wear, accidental damage or use.

Brand Story & Purpose
What sets Beringia apart from other outdoor brands?
What sets Beringia apart is our combination of distinctive design, global mountain expertise and advanced fabric development.
Rather than simply sourcing existing materials, we work alongside leading textile specialists and apparel artisans, particularly in Japan, to develop custom fabrics that balance protection, breathability, mobility and exceptionally low weight. Our technical designs are informed by mountain professionals from the Japan Alps, Swiss Alps and Southern Alps, then refined for real-world use in demanding and unpredictable conditions.
The Dragonfly Waterproof Jacket is a great example. Its proprietary, made-in-Japan three-layer fabric delivers 20,000 mm waterproofing and 20,000 g/m² breathability while weighing just 164 grams in a size Medium. Our St. Elias Jacket uses Täsmä precision-response fabric developed with Pertex Japan to adapt to changing conditions during high-output activities such as ski touring and climbing.
Ultimately, Beringia creates beautiful, highly functional technical apparel for people who value thoughtful design, advanced materials and performance without unnecessary weight or bulk.
Where are your products manufactured and what about ethics/sustainability?
Beringia products are made in different locations depending on the garment. We work closely with textile specialists and apparel artisans, particularly in Japan, to develop many of our custom technical fabrics.
Select pieces, including our Farallon Wool Shirts, are crafted entirely in Japan by master textile artisans in the renowned Bishu region of Aichi Prefecture, an area celebrated for generations of exceptional wool craftsmanship.
Other garments feature our proprietary Japanese-developed fabrics and are assembled in carefully selected manufacturing facilities abroad. For example, our Dragonfly Waterproof Jacket and Pant are constructed using our custom three-layer shell fabric, woven and finished in Japan, then expertly assembled in China to our exacting standards.
The country of manufacture and complete material details are listed on each product page.
What does the name “Beringia” mean?
Beringia takes its name from the ancient region that once connected Asia and North America across the Bering land bridge. It represents a meeting point between continents, cultures and some of the world’s most demanding northern environments.
That identity runs throughout the brand. Beringia draws inspiration from the mountains, coastlines and Arctic conditions of the northern Pacific, where weather changes quickly and land, ocean, snow and ice constantly intersect. It also reflects our connection between Japanese textile innovation, global mountain expertise and our North American home in Bozeman, Montana.
Ultimately, the name captures our focus on creating distinctive technical apparel for exploring wild places with greater freedom, intention and connection to the natural world.
