When you need to move seamlessly from high-exertion activity to stationary belay to breakneck downhill the Altai hooded insulated jacket can be put on in seconds, over gloves and helmet/hat. Later on, use it as comfy lounge wear after an evening hot springs session.
It’s the pinnacle of ultra-lightweight insulation, featuring PrimaLoft Cross Core down alternative material that is 55% post-consumer recycled.

Fit: The Altai Over Hoody is designed to fit as an 'over jacket'. If you intend to wear this over a shirt/2nd layer, you could size down. Unisex sizing: Men's fit usually true to size, unless you are on the larger side of your size. If you normally wear a size medium, a size medium is your size. Women’s fit is generally one size down for best fit. If you normally would wear a women’s medium, a size small is your size.
Model Measurements Male fit model is 5'8" and wearing a size medium. This will fit over a shell system.

there are so many brands consumed with selling the fashion side of the outdoor business that they forget the truly technical customer and basic needs of a great belay or over jacket. the Altai jacket had all the features i have been looking for and some innovative ones that i am truly enjoying. the fit is roomy really made to fit over full action layers. the fabrics a bit crisp but i can tell it will be durable and is holding up well. The inner mesh pockets are Key and whats missing in soooo many puffers these days i will not buy another one with out them. the Wrist zippers are really a cool functional and innovative system almost worth the cost of admission alone. Will it become my go to technical warm layer YES. is it perfect no. I feel a little mislead( or i haven’t found the secret pocket about the product stuffing into its own hood? that would be closer to perfection and the layer is their to do it . I also find the outer zip pockets a little narrow. and i can live with the zipper slider direction but its a bit odd to get used to. is it truly worth 5 hundy? time will tell and until then it will be the back up peice that is always in my pack.

Love the jacket! I had to size down to an XS and it still fits over my shell. I’m a US 38 jacket or a 46 in european sizing.

I got this jacket in size S and it fits well over my hardshells. It is perfect for moderate winter days keeping you warm but also durable enough to ski or ice climb in it! This cuff zippers are a nice ad on especially when you don’t want to take off your gloves!

The Altai is an amazing down jacket. Warm, great fit and features with such a unique style. One of the best down jackets I’ve ever had… and I’ve had em’ all. HAV Yellow is so rad in person. You will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to see future colors… I hope they’re bright! Love this jacket paired with the TASMA Anorak.

Such a unique and useful jacket! LOVE the orange color & two-way zipper. Super light, super warm, and dry due to the synthetic insulation. Putting it on instantly envelopes you in a cocoon of protection and having it in my pack inspires confidence for any alpine mission. Works great both over and under other layers. Compresses really well - the only piece of feedback is to include another zipper so it can be stuffed into its own pocket. I use a separate stuff sack for it.
