Men's St. Elias Bib

The flagship of Beringia’s complete outerwear system for active winter sports. Built for the professional skier or rider who spends 100+ days in the mountains every season, the St. Elias bib is the matching pant in our big mountain system.

Redesigned for 2024 with our new Täsmä precision response fabric, a waterproof, stretchy and highly breathable fabric, with the perfect balanced fit - roomy enough yet not baggy or draggy. With the highest quality components and construction throughout, the St. Elias bib keeps your mid- and lower body dry and snow-free during long days in the mountains.

Intended to provide extra cover in deep powder, the bib is designed to be paired with the St. Elias Jacket. In refining this piece, the designers have obsessed over every detail. Articulated knees combined with Täsmä’s stretch provides a huge range of motion for bending and climbing without constriction.

The Double zip thigh pockets are designed to fit a transceiver (with lanyard loop). Two-way slider zips on each leg allow for quick ventilation while skinning or hiking.

The total mountain bib/pant is ideal for the touring-oriented skier (highest breathability) with enough durability and features for heavy days of lift-serviced pow shredding.

Wearing St. Elias Bib and Jacket over our Diomede superfine merino baselayer and Lightstream breathable insulation offers a complete protective, thermo-regulating, and full-body stretch system, eliminating the need for extra bulky layers.

Size: S-XL

Weight: Size Medium weighs 680g / 24oz.

Fit: We would call the St. Elias fit an all-mountain fit – looser, more comfortable than an alpinist fit. With enough room for layering. Usually, true to size fit. If you are on the smaller end of your size, or prefer a snugger fit, sizing down works well.

Model Measurements Model is 5'11" wearing a size large.

Durable, breathable, feature rich, versatile

I purchased a set of these for my resort bibs and mid winter backcountry touring bibs. I am currently in my second season with them and am very pleased. I've bushwacked through countless trees with them and there are no tears or snags. They breath quite well given the durability and amount of waterproofing. Last spring I ran them a few times sans bib tops for late spring slush days at the resort, increasing their versatility year round. The bib tops are well thought out with pocket placement as well. If Beringia offered an optional "low top" zip on bib made out of softshell material only these would be my only pants/bibs for resort and backcountry year round!

True to Size and Fit for Life

I agree with the earlier reviewer that these are outstanding. I do not agree on the fit. I'm a 6'2" 200lb mid-50s guy with a 36+ waist and the Large fits me great. I tried on the XL and they were pretty huge. It may be a style choice, but if you want them to fit with a minimum of fabric to catch crampons, I think these are true to size.
I liked the pockets, especially the right chest which allows for easy and secure storage of a cell phone. I think I took more pictures due to this feature. The other features are great: I like the mesh back to the bib portion and the fabric is truly next level in terms of quality, hand and movement. I have some great other bibs (very old dead bird Gamma salopettes I still use, and some old Alpha bibs). I like the Ortovox and Narrona bib offerings too. But these are the favorites. I would still opt for something else for really light options in warmer weather (full size zips come in handy then), but really enjoyed these this winter and believe the search is over. These are the bibs you're looking for...

Thoughtful Design Matched with Premium Materials.

About 10 days in my St. Elias bibs, both in the backcountry and at the resort. I can say with confidence these are the best bibs I have ever owned.

The pocket locations and various zippers are all perfectly placed, each serving a valuable purpose in the backcountry. The thigh pockets are the right size for a beacon, extra gloves or snacks. High quality elastic straps have a nice range of adjustment. Did not realize how much I would appreciate the fully separating top and bottom until put into use, it works great. The material kept me fully protected on a cold chairlift but was light and breathable when touring. The lower cuffs even held up well to some nicks via crampons while ice climbing.

I would say they run a bit small, I'm 6'2" 175lbs and glad I went with the XLs.

The Flagship Of Beringia's Complete Outerwear System For Active Winter Sports

Redesigned in 2022 with our new Täsmä precision-response fabric that variably adjusts to weather conditions, assuring the perfect balance of protection, breathability and comfort during activities that require unpredictable alternation between periods of high performance such as skiing and climbing (touring). The St. Elias Jacket has proven to be the most popular snow system in Hokkaido’s deep powder backcountry over the last decade.

Two main chest pockets can be accessed with a backpack or harness, and are roomy enough to hold essentials. Inside, double mesh pouches cradle goggles, gloves or skins.

The interior pouches can be accessed from the outside slash vents, which allow you to dump excess heat faster than pit zips and are easier to reach.

Asymmetrical cuffs have velcro closures that adjust and close quickly with any size glove or mitt. This jacket is loaded with essentials  and new Vislon zippers for ease of operation.

Outdoor professionals praise its looser fit, stark minimalism, and lightweight, highly breathable protection. These are veterans who value the speed provided by frictionless, unadorned surfaces. Simply put, when you have a heavy dose of skills you need less equipment. And skills weigh nothing. If this is you, then Tsurugi is your weapon of choice.

The jacket is so light and soft you barely notice you're wearing a highly functional shell; ample room for snowboarding, hiking and the high exertion of short hikes and backcountry touring. This is the perfect piece for all season mountain wear, except for the coldest winter days in the Rockies. Enough room to layer up underneath without feeling constricted. The impressive design looks good on everyone without trying.

Pair It With The St. Elias Jacket For A Total Integrated System For Those With Serious Mountain Ambitions.
